Beebe set for induction into Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame

Aurora Christian football coach Don Beebe, a former Kaneland standout who went on to a successful NFL career, has been selected as part of the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame's 17th annual induction class.

The ceremony is set for Sept. 18 at Cicero's Hawthorne Racecourse.

Beebe, who has guided ACS to back-to-back Class 3A state championships, was a six-time Super Bowl participant during his nine-season career. He won Super Bowl XXXI with the Green Bay Packers.

Other inductees include former NBA players Mark Aguirre and Antoine Walker, former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb and former White Sox manager Tony La Russa. Longtime North Central College cross country/track coach Al Carius also is set to be part of the Hall class.
