Staying on point at UEC boys track

St. Charles North finished ahead of Batavia as the top River Division team in Thursday's Upstate Eight Conference boys track and field meet at Lake Park.

When the meet was scored by division, however, Batavia topped Geneva, the North Stars and everyone else.

The UEC meet, comprised of 14 teams, scored eight places on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis. To score by division, officials scored six places after dropping out the teams not in the division, meaning there were more points to go around and fewer teams to contend for them.

Here's a look at the UEC team standings:
Lake Park, 160
Neuqua Valley, 141.5
Bartlett, 101
St. Charles North, 71
Waubonsie Valley, 69
