GENEVA – The City of Geneva Historic Preservation Commission is sponsoring a citywide photography contest honoring May as National Preservation Month.
Interested individuals are invited to submit a digital photographic entry, consisting of two images, which capture the materials of the City's historic architecture.
Participants must submit an entry form along with two original photos – one a general view and one with an associated detail – of a treasured historic building, structure, object or place within the municipal boundaries of Geneva.
Entry forms are available online or at Geneva City Hall. Entries will be accepted until 4 p.m. Monday, May 20. Entries may be submitted via email to email@example.com or in person to the Office of the Historic Preservation Planner at Geneva City Hall, 22 S. First St. Members of the public can vote for their favorite entries at www.geneva.il.us/hpc/contest/voting.htm from 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 until 10 a.m. Thursday May 30.
This contest is open to any resident of Geneva, except employees, elected and/or appointed officials, and their immediate family members. Sample contest submissions, a complete list of official rules and additional information is available at www.geneva.il.us/hpc/contest/ or by calling historic preservation planner Michael A. Lambert at 630-938-4541 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
