Severe thunderstorm watch in effect

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 3 a.m. Tuesday in Kane County. The National Weather Service forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms later tonight.

Thunderstorms also are likely throughout the day on Tuesday.

According to a hazardous weather outlook issued Monday afternoon, some potential exists for storms to be severe, with damaging winds the primary threat. Hail also is possible.
