Outfielder Albert Almora, the sixth overall pick of the parent Cubs in last June's draft, was added to the Cougars' roster Wednesday. He's eligible to play in tonight's series opener at Peoria.
Almora, 19, tweeted Tuesday he was Kane County-bound. He initially was targeted to begin the season with the Cougars before breaking the hamate bone in his left hand during spring training.
Die-hard Cougars fans thinking about making the trip to Peoria tonight might be happy to know that hot dogs, sodas and ice cream sandwiches cost just $1 as part of the Chiefs' WON Dollar Wednesday promotion. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
