South Elgin resident D.J. Carpenter, 54, was volunteering at the Riverside Community Church rummage sale in St. Charles Township when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Lombard

What does D.J. stand for? Diane Jean

Pets?A cat named Noel, a rescue.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Candace Cameron, who plays D.J. Tanner on “Full House.”

First job?I was a line cook at Red Lobster.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to help people. I worked at Sanfilippo Nut company for 17 years, then I got laid off.

A movie you’d recommend? “Mary Poppins”

Game show you’d like to be on? “Family Feud”

Favorite charity? Christian Missionary Alliance

Favorite local restaurant? White Castle

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I have been to Mali in Africa with Christian Missionary Alliance and to Brazil with Sanfilippo.
