Ben Katzen, 41, was working as a naturalist at the opening of the new Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles when he answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Downers Grove

Pets? Two dogs, a boxer named Cleatus and a cattle dog mix named Missy.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Jean-Claude Van Damme

First job? At Butera Market as a bagger and stock boy.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a chef for a while. I became a naturalist instead.

A movie you’d recommend? “Adaptation”

Favorite charity? American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

What game show would you be on? “The Price is Right”

Favorite local restaurant? Szechwan Restaurant in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I love to bike ride, and my specialty in cooking is I make excellent guacamole.
