Roskam statement on unemployment rate increase

U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam released the following statement on news that the national unemployment rate increased to 7.6 percent in the month of May:

"American families have been struggling for too long, and May’s jobs report is just a continued example of their hard times under the president’s failed guidance. As moms and dads find their budgets stretched thin, the president offers only the same tired rhetoric that would prolong stagnant growth and let our imploding debt  keep putting downward pressure on the economy.

"House Republicans are focused on going down a different path. Our plan fights for long term solutions – like simplifying our tax code and promoting innovation – in order to stop our government’s reckless habits and spending binges. It’s time to free our economy from the constraints of debt and lift the burden from Americans’ shoulders in order to unleash the brighter future we all know is possible."
