ST. CHARLES – A task force led by Mayor Ray Rogina has narrowed the 3rd Ward alderman candidate list from 13 to four, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.
The full City Council was expected to interview the finalists – Charles A. Amenta II, Todd A. Bancroft, Dianne E. Kellett and Carolyn M. W. Waibel – during executive session Monday.
The interviews were scheduled to last 25 minutes each. Afterward, Rogina and the City Council planned to discuss the candidates and try to reach a consensus on the best one.
The chosen candidate is expected to be seated before the June 17 City Council meeting. That person will serve the remainder of the 3rd Ward aldermanic term once held by Rogina, who left the office in May to become mayor.
