Cougars right-hander Eddie Orozco landed on the disabled list with inflammation in his throwing elbow as part of a flurry of roster moves made before Tuesday's series opener against Burlington.
With the All-Star break on the horizon, Orozco hopes to only be sidelined for about a week.
"The last couple times out it's been bugging me more than normal," he said of his elbow.
Orozco met with team doctors Tuesday morning.
"He was having trouble bouncing back after he would throw and would be more tender every time after he threw and was taking a little more time to bounce back," manager Mark Johnson said. "So after this last time he threw, it needed to get checked out."
Orozco, a 22nd round draft pick of the parent Cubs last June, is 3-3 with a 4.87 ERA in 17 appearances covering 20 1/3 innings.
