FIRST TEAM

Ankur Shah

St. Charles North, Sr., P

Kane County Chronicle Baseball Player of the Year finished 11-1 on the season with an ERA of 0.59. In 832/3 innings of work, Starai allowed only seven earned runs and 55 hits while striking out 89 and walking 18. Was winning pitcher in Class 4A third-place game against Neuqua Valley.

Jason Sullivan

St. Francis, So., P

Ryan Thomas

St. Charles North, Sr., C

North Stars’ offensive leader batted .418 with 24 RBIs and played quality defense, primarily behind the plate and occasionally at third base. Will play at Elgin Community College.

East’s premier run-producer clicked to the tune of a .343 batting average and team-leading totals in doubles (14) and RBIs (25). Saints first baseman and Adrian College (Mich.) recruit also notched pair of triples.

Batavia, Sr., IF

One of the area’s top defensive shortstops, Zwick batted .360 with five doubles, three triples and 18 RBIs for the co-UEC River champion Bulldogs.

A speed demon with power, the Bulldogs’ leadoff hitter batted .381 with an on-base percentage of .463. Had seven doubles, seven triples, three home runs, 21 RBIs and stole 21 bases.

Bobby Hess
