Into the Storm: Strong tornadoes not out of the question for our area today

Strong and likely severe weather is expected late this afternoon and evening. Strong tornadoes are not out of the question for our area today. PLEASE have weather radios ready and ON today.

I will be leaving for Moore, Okla., today to deliver donations. We have two car loads full going down with four other friends. So I will not be around for this possible outbreak. But this is why I do what I do. We are helping those in need, which comes before chasing storms.

The only thing I can say is be careful as the situation right now looks dangerous here today and tonight. I think the biggest tornado threat will stay south of Interstate 80, but we cannot rule them out in our area. My original blog post was going to be about Moore,Okla., but weather conditions have changed it just a little.

Hail to the size of baseballs and winds over 70 mph and very heavy rainfall also are likely according to the hazardous weather outlook provided by the National Weather Service. Please be careful and stay tuned to local news and radios. I expect watches to be up this afternoon for tornadoes.
