Face time with Lisa Hawley

Geneva resident Lisa Hawley, 52, was working at the indoor garage sale at Hosanna! Lutheran Church in St. Charles when she answered eight questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? A small town called Paris, Ill.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Meg Ryan

First job? I detasseled corn when I was 14.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I’m a teacher. I teach middle school science in U-46.

A book you’d recommend? “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith, one of my favorites

Favorite charity? I support the ministries here at our church, Hosanna! Lutheran.

Favorite local restaurant? Francesca’s by the River

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I am ninth of 12 children.
