Several Chronicle-area softball players and coaches earned accolades Friday as the Illinois Coaches Association announced its Class 3A and 4A All-State teams.

Three juniors highlighted the list of honorees, with St. Charles North pitcher/outfielder Sabrina Rabin named to the 4A first team and Burlington Central’s Brooke Gaylord (pitcher) and Bekah Harnish (catcher) earning first-team nods in 3A.

Class 4A state runner-up St. Charles East was well-represented. First baseman Kate Peterburs was part of the second team, while right fielder Olivia Lorenzini and shortstop Lexi Perez were third-team selections. Saints coach Kelly Horan was one of eight 4A sectional coaches of the year, as well.

Burlington Central’s Wade Maisto earned the same honor in 3A.

Other 3A players selected included Kaneland second-teamer Allyson O’Herron and third-teamers Lanie Callaghan, Paige Kuefler and Lexi Roach.

Wheaton Academy’s Marissa Gagliano and Jess Bosse (St. Charles) also were part of the 3A third team.
