Police are seeking the owners of an injured boxer-mixed dog that was hit by an SUV on Sunday night in Geneva.

GENEVA – A dog injured by a car late Sunday  in Geneva will be moved from an emergency veterinarian to another facility for continuing care, police said.

"No owner has come forward as far as I know," Geneva Police Cmdr. Eric Passarelli wrote in an email. " I have been communicating with the emergency vet, and they are looking to have him moved from their facility to another where he can receive further care. We are going to reach out to our local vets to see if we can make some sort of arrangement with them."

The young male dog is a boxer mixed with either a lab or a pit bull, weighs 42 pounds and is estimated to be about 1 or 2 years old.

Because the dog did not have a collar and no microchip, Geneva police are hoping to locate the owner. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 630-232-4736.
