Face Time with Evelyn Keup

North Aurora resident Evelyn Keup, 55, was selling items from her business, Wiggle Waggles, during Swedish Days in Geneva when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? St. Charles

Pets? Three schnauzers named Macaroni, Skylar and Nikkogator

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Katharine Hepburn

First job? Baby-sitting

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A flight attendant, but I went to nursing school instead. I was a nurse for 30 years, went to work for a travel agency for 11 years and now have my own business with my daughter, Wiggle Waggles, a homemade organic pet bakery and bistro where dogs can eat in.

A movie you’d recommend? “The Great Gatsby”

Favorite charity? Dog rescues and the Great Dane Rescue

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Do you speak another language? Dutch

Favorite local restaurant? The Box Car in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I made homemade dog food 25 years ago for my first Airedale Percy, a dog that had a lot of allergies. My daughter came to me and said, “Mom, remember when you used to make dog treats when I was little? Can we do that as a business?” And I said if you’re game, let’s do it.
