Face Time with Reem Pashan

St. Charles resident Reem Pashan was walking her dog, Lexie, during Swedish Days in Geneva when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Park Ridge, but my dad was a civil engineer, and I also lived in two cities in Brazil, in Iran and in Jordan as a kid and as an adult with my family in Germany.

Pets? Lexie, a Shiba Inu mix rescued from Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Sandra Bullock

First job? At Brown’s Chicken during high school

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Astronomer, but I became an electrical engineer. 

A book you’d recommend? “A Thousand Splendid Suns” and “The Kite Runner,” both by Khaled Hosseini

Favorite charity? I volunteer at Hesed House through St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Do you speak another language? English and Arabic, a little German and a little Spanish

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Favorite local restaurant? ZaZa’s Italian Steakhouse in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I have been to 26 countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Czech Republic and Argentina. I’m also a leap year baby, born on Feb. 29.
