Otroligt! Whether you say it in Swedish or English, the word “incredible” encompasses everything that was last month’s huge Swedish Days festival. We hope everyone had as much fun attending as we did at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce planning this community festival.
A huge thank you to the city of Geneva departments for making sure the downtown always looked its best, for all the pre-work of setting up and cleaning up whatever was necessary to run the six-day event. To the Geneva Police Department, Geneva Fire Department and ESDA for keeping everyone safe and not letting the crowds have “too much fun.” The sponsors who were present all week, the more than 140 volunteers who represented Geneva superbly and the Geneva businesses for staying open late for the 200,000-plus visitors.
To anyone who donated monetarily, time or talents – the Geneva Chamber appreciates it!

Back for its 12th year, the prestigious Geneva Arts Fair will showcase the work of more than 155 fine artists from around the country. Designed as an interactive gallery, this year’s juried show will provide visitors with the opportunity to peruse multiple mediums and talk directly with the artists about their stunning displays. As they stroll down Third Street in Geneva, guests can enjoy art “en plein aire” and – best of all – for free.
Kids can use their originality and imagination to get “all tied up,” as they create and transform T-shirts into one-of-a-kind artwork.
Once again, the expertise and products of Plandscape Inc. will make over the corners of South Third and Franklin streets into a comforting, breathtaking display of foliage and color. Stop by the information booth for questions about the arts fair, upcoming festivals or visiting Geneva.
Geneva merchants and restaurants also will be providing guests with sales and food and wine specials, creating two full days of sensory overload.
The 12th annual Geneva Arts Fair is a must-do on your summer calendar. The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 27 and 28. Visit www.genevachamber.com for information.

The Geneva Chamber will remodel the space that will be the Geneva Visitor Center. The visitor center is not separate from the chamber office but is an extension.
We now have two floors available to serve residents and visitors. We needed more room and wanted a first-floor opportunity to offer brochures and information, give recommendations and directions. With construction underway, we hope to be open in the fall.

Sponsors and monetary donations contribute to the financing of Geneva Chamber of Commerce festivals. Without this support, we would have a difficult time producing the high quality our award-winning festivals are known for. Patronize our local businesses and thank them for helping make your festival experiences wonderful and fun.
