St. Charles police reports

• Douglas William Komes, 55, homeless, was charged Sunday, July 7, with disorderly conduct.

• Karen Leann Wright, 36, of the 17000 block of Route 38, Maple Park, was charged Sunday, July 7, with retail theft from Meijer in St. Charles.

• Joseph M. Montes, 23, of the 1400 block of Exter Lane, South Elgin, was charged Sunday, July 7, with disorderly conduct for public drunkenness.

• James J. Slobodnik, 23, of the 1200 block of Churchill Road, Bartlett, was charged Saturday, July 6, with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.

• Zenaida Tecuapetla, 43, of the 500 block of Carriage Drive, Batavia, was charged with retail theft from Von Maur in Batavia.

• William J. Taber, homeless, of St. Charles, was arrested Saturday, July 6, on a failure-to-appear warrant out of St. Charles for disorderly conduct.

• Anthony Lawrence Parise, 19, of the 1500 block of Rita Avenue, St. Charles, was charged Saturday, July 6, with driving on a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Michael Jared Conlee, 36, of the 500 block of Edison Street, St. Charles, was charged Saturday, July 6, with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without headlights when required.

• On Wednesday, July 3, someone reported that two black bags of empty cans, weighing about 75 pounds each, were taken from the 200 block of West Main Street in St. Charles.

• Adolfo Hernandez Lara, 28, of the 2000 block of Oak Street, St. Charles, was charged Thursday, July 4, with leaving the scene of an accident and was arrested on Kane County warrants for attempted battery to a police officer and driving without a license.

• On Sunday, June 30, police received a report of damage to the driver’s side mirror on a Hyundai Elantra that was parked in the 2200 block of Fox Hill Court in St. Charles. The vehicle was damaged sometime during evening hours.

• David L. Osborne, 37, of the 1300 block of South 14th Street, St. Charles, was charged Tuesday, July 2, with having open alcohol in a public place.

• Jose F. Rocha-Tapia, 40, of the 35W400 block of Pinelands Road, St. Charles, was charged Tuesday, July 2, with driving without a valid license and wearing a headset while driving.

• Joseph J. Hlatko, 51, of the 200 block of South Second Street, St. Charles, was charged Tuesday, July 2, with criminal trespass to property after entering the Second Street Tavern, where he is banned. He was charged again with criminal trespass to property after entering the tavern later that day.

• Demarco T. Johnson, 19, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, Naperville, was charged Tuesday, July 2, with retail theft from Kohl’s.

• Samuel C. Farella, 18, of the 400 South Collins Street, South Elgin, was charged Tuesday, July 2, with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• Luke R. Slapa, 18, of the 600 block of Ashton Lane, South Elgin, was charged Tuesday, July 2, with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• Manuel J. Hernandez, 42, of the 1000 block of Oak Street, Sugar Grove, was charged Thursday, July 4, with speeding and driving without a license.

• Yaqar D. Hawkins, 33, of the 5900 block of Washington Boulevard, Chicago, was charged Friday, July 5, with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and operating an uninsured vehicle.

• Police recovered a 1994 Honda Accord that was stolen sometime between 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, and 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, while it was parked outside of a residence in the 1600 block of Oak Street, St. Charles. A window was rolled down and the keys were visible in the center console. The car was found at 50 N. 17th St., and police found that a faceplate for a Jensen Linear CD car stereo was missing. The keys were also missing.

• Carrie R. Ketchum, 35, of the 3400 block of Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn, was charged Wednesday, July 3, with driving under the influence of drugs, fleeing and eluding police, speeding and two counts of disobeying a traffic control device.

• Thomas L. Gardner, 68, of the 0-100 block of Osage Drive, Franklin, was charged Wednesday, July 3, with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than 0.08 percent and driving without lights when required.

• Jose A. Munoz-Garcia, 43, of the 700 block of Gate Street, Aurora, was charged Wednesday, July 3, with driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
