Convention, visitors bureau welcomes two new staffers

ST. CHARLES – On July 8, two new staff members to the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau were welcomed to the team.

Jason Pawlowski was recently welcomed as the new marketing manager and festival liaison, and Nicholas Bacik is the bureau’s new sports sales manager.

Pawlowski has 15 years of experience in marketing and event production. Pawlowski has worked with the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin, serving as managing director, and he also served on the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.

He has experience in photography, video, print design, online and social media marketing, and has coordinated several special events, including the Elgin Fourth of July Parade and the Illinois Main Street award-winning Downtown Madness. 

Pawlowski also worked as business manager and media director for the Miss Illinois Scholarship Association.

In his role, Pawlowski will create and distribute a variety of communications, including media releases, e-marketing and social media communications, as well as assisting executive director Amy Egolf in executing the bureau’s marketing plan for St. Charles. 

He will also include interfacing directly with the contracted event management company to ensure the overall success of the annual Scarecrow Festival.

 Nicholas Bacik, who holds a Master of Arts in sports administration from Central Michigan University, has been employed as regional sponsorships manager with Feld Entertainment and Motor Sports in Aurora. He also worked with Flywheel Sports in Highland Park, as an athletic recruiter for NCSA Athletic Recruiting in Chicago.

Bacik’s duties will include  promoting St. Charles as a destination for sports, hobby and collectible events through lead generation and development for the purpose of increasing overnight guest stays at hotels and training centers located in the St. Charles area.
