Face Time with Susan Simmonds

St. Charles resident Susan Simmonds, 43, was at the Great Western Trail Horlock Hill Prairie in St. Charles when she answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? St. Charles, Mo.

Pets? Two cats named Koda and Kanga

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Reese Witherspoon

First job? I worked at I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt in St. Peters, Mo.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a teacher. Instead, I became a stay-at-home mom, and I just graduated to be a physical therapist assistant.

A movie you’d recommend? “Finding Neverland”

Favorite charity? I go to Christ Community Church, and we support the ministries there.

What game show would you be on? “Family Feud”

Favorite local restaurant? Townhouse Books Cafe in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I do mission trips to Sierra Leone. I’ve been to Africa four times, and next week I’m going for a fifth time. I am actually the leader of a team that is going to run a teachers’ conference there. We go to work with a ministry there that serves outreach into the community with farming, education and health care, along with spreading the Gospel.
