Mothers’ Club gives aid to local nonprofits

ST. CHARLES – On July 29,  the St. Charles Mothers’ Club will present monetary awards from proceeds received from the 2012-13 fundraising year to local nonprofit organizations.

Awards will be given out beginning at 7 p.m. at the St. Charles Public Library in St. Charles
Recipients include the Community Crisis Center, to support a domestic violence support group; Royal Family Kids’ Camp of Kane County, to support a camper; TriCity Family Services, for a support group at Lazarus House; and Embrace a Family, to provide general assistance to local families in need.

Additional awards were previously presented in the form of three scholarships given to local women who are in need of financial assistance to return to school. One woman is attending Waubonsee Community College and two others are attending Aurora University.

The Mothers’ Club has many events throughout the year to raise money to assist local families in need.

The St. Charles Mothers’ Club welcomes new members at any time. The club meets on the third Monday of every month beginning Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
