In Focus: Let the games begin

Published: Friday, July 26, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

I spent some time this week with 15-year-old Tyler Buterbaugh, who will be competing in the World Dwarf Games in August.

The Campton Hills resident rattled off about a half dozen sports that he will be competing in during the games, including basketball, football, track and field, and floor hockey. The list goes on. And those are just the sports he’s good at.

During my visit, Tyler was going through his routine training regimen, and then he threw the football around with his dad for a while. His dad, David, competed in the first World Dwarf Games 30 years ago.

When asked what his goal was he said, “to beat my dad.”

Good luck, Tyler!
