ST. CHARLES – A man whose palm prints linked him to an armed robbery in St. Charles has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for that crime, according to Kane County court records.
Antwon D. Powell, 33, pleaded guilty to the May 2012 armed robbery on July 19, records show.
Judge Clint Hull accepted the plea agreement, which gave Powell credit for 221 days served in the Kane County Jail, records show. Court documents indicate Powel also must pay $500 in restitution and $335 in costs.
St. Charles police have said two men – one armed with a handgun – approached a 37-year-old man walking in a bank parking lot in the 1500 block of West Main Street in St. Charles. The men reportedly stole money, a wrist watch, a cellphone and plastic bag containing cigars from the victim.
Palm prints on the plastic bag reportedly linked Powell to the robbery.
