Koenen in line to be St. Charles city administrator

ST. CHARLES – Mayor Ray Rogina announced Wednesday he will recommend Mark Koenen to the position of city administrator, according to a St. Charles news release.

The St. Charles City Council is expected to vote on the nomination on Aug. 19. Koenen, who has served as the city's director of Public Works for the last 23 years, will report for his first day on Aug. 31.

“I am proud to represent the city of St Charles in this new capacity," Koenen said in a written statement. "I have lived in St. Charles for 30 years and raised three children here. My family has long enjoyed all our community has to offer. We are glad to call St. Charles ‘home.’ Looking ahead, I am anxious to partner with residents and commercial and industrial citizens who make our City their ‘home.’”
