Focused Cherala eyeing a three-peat as Upstate Eight Conference River Division Golfer of the Year.

Nate Desens, Geneva, Sr.
Narrowly missed qualifying for the 3A state tournament as an individual last fall, getting eliminated in a playoff.

Enters final season with plenty of momentum after a steady summer tournament season.

Graham Lillibridge, Geneva, Fr.
Brother of former Vikings standout Colin opens season in No. 1 spot, looks to make a name for himself.

Connor McCadam, St. Charles East, Sr.
McCadam emerged in the postseason last fall and honed his game on the junior circuit this summer.

One of five returning Saints seniors should help pace a deep field looking to compete in the conference race.

Matt Samuelson, St. Charles North, Sr.

Matt Weber, Burlington Central, Sr.
Indiana-bound Weber, who hails from St. Charles, is back in the fold after dealing with eligility issues after he played in an out-of-state tournament.

TEAMS TO WATCH

GENEVA “I feel very good about where we’re at right now,” says veteran Vikings coach Bill Koehn, who’s entering his 30th season. “We have a lot of depth.” A freshman, Graham Lillibridge, leads the way, but usual suspects such as Dan Cisco and Nate Desens look to lead a young group, too.

KANELAND
Seniors Brody Kuhar and Matt Yonkovich have improved after helping last season’s team to a 10th-place state finish. Add in emerging talent such as senior Stephen Cannell and junior Jesse Denton, and it’s no wonder coach Mark Meyer is so eager to get the season started.

ST. CHARLES NORTH
Boasting Raghav Cherala alone puts North in the conference mix, but it’s solid support from fellow seniors Matt Samuelson, JT Grill and Santino Salamone that leaves coach Rob Prentiss even more confident.
