Face Time with Robert Metzger

St. Charles resident Robert Metzger, 54, was at the St. Charles Cruise Night when he answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? St. Charles

Do you have a car here? A 1930 Chevy coupe I built from scratch to have 1,200 horsepower and a 565-cubic-inch engine.

First job? Baling hay on my uncle’s farm when I was 14.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A gear head, and I’ve become one. I’ve been one all my life.

A movie you’d recommend? “American Graffiti”

Favorite charity? Ronald McDonald House

What game show would you be on? “Let’s Make a Deal”

Favorite local restaurant? Corfu in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I met funny car driver John Force at the drag strip at Union Grove, Wis.
