ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Public Library is implementing a new digital media service for library cardholders called hoopla. Hoopla will enable patrons to borrow movies or television series straight from a browser, tablet or smartphone.

Hoopla is offered at no cost to patrons and requires only a St. Charles Public Library card to access.  Hoopla will eliminate waiting times for media.

Thousands of titles will be available anywhere there is an Internet connection, and more content is being added on a weekly basis, states a news release.

Hoopla is available on any mobile device running Apple iOS 6.0+ or Android 4.0+ and via the four major Web browsers.

To access the system on a mobile device, the free hoopla digital app needs to be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

There is no need to download an app or extension in order to use an Internet browser.
