Face Time with Carol Cleff Yunkes

Lake Orion, Mich., resident Carol Cleff Yunkes, 61, was at the Fox Valley Folk Music Festival in Geneva with her granddaughter, Eleanor Kuntz, 7, of Elburn, when Yunkes answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? St. Charles. We raised our children in Batavia, then moved to Michigan.

Pets? Otis, a pug-affenpinscher mix from a rescue in Kentucky

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Susan Sarandon

First job? Baby-sitting for 25 cents an hour

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A cowgirl. I kind of became that. I owned a tack store and had a horse.

Do you play an instrument? Guitar

Favorite charity? Horses’ Haven in Michigan

What game show would you be on? “Jeopardy!”

Favorite local restaurant? Sweet Tomatoes in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I toured the Mediterranean and China. I’ve been to Paris and Alaska. I have a sister I call my fairy godsister who takes me places.
