Batavia furniture store to celebrate opening

BATAVIA – Michigan-based Art Van Furniture at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 will celebrate the opening of its new store at 165 N. Randall Road in Batavia, which formerly housed Wickes Furniture.

Art Van Furniture CEO Kim Yost, Vice President and General Manager Barry Davidson, Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke and several other dignitaries will be on hand to celebrate the opening of the Batavia store with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Batavia High School marching band also will make a special appearance at the ceremony.

The ribbon-cutting/store opening will be from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., followed by entertainment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The store will close at 9 p.m.

Art Van Furniture has also teamed up with international home designer, Hilary Farr. Best known for her appearance on HGTV’s “Love It Or List It,” Farr will shop directly with one lucky winner to make over their home, complete with Art Van furniture.

Shoppers can visit the new Batavia store or any other Art Van location or go to www.artvan.com through Oct. 14 to enter for a chance to win a day with Farr and a $5,000 shopping spree.
