Prep roundup: Burlington Central volleyball defeats Rock Falls

BURLINGTON – Playing without top outside hitter Lauren Wiltsie, the Burlington Central girls volleyball team persevered for a 25-17, 25-27, 25-13 victory over Rock Falls on Thursday in a Big Northern Conference crossover.

Wiltsie suffered a knee injury in practice this week.

“We thought it might have been an ACL,” Rockets coach Marv Leavitt said. “We got confirmed that it wasn’t. …. It doesn’t seem season-ending, which is wonderful for us. We’re going to take it a little easy right now with her, but we hope to have her back soon.”

BC (3-0) benefited from 12 Jenna Schudel kills and 36 digs from Allie O’Reilly.

St. Charles North 2, South Elgin 0 (25-13, 25-9): At St. Charles, North improved to 9-0 behind Taylor Krage (seven kills) and Alex Seavey (seven digs).
