NORTH AURORA – On Thursday, Sept. 12, construction crews will pour a new concrete deck on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 88 at Orchard Road Bridge, located between Sullivan Road and Oak Street, in North Aurora.
The pour should take approximately six to eight hours to complete. During the concrete pour, southbound traffic over the bridge will be reduced to a single lane to allow crews and equipment access to the western portion of the bridge. Because of the anticipated long delays, it is advised that drivers find alternate routes while this work is going on.
During the concrete pour, the on and off ramps to/from I-88 will remain open for motorists, but they will experience longer than normal delays because of the reduction in the number of lanes across the bridge
