Batavia police reports

• Fernando A. Alvarez, 34, of the 100 block of Volks Court, North Aurora, was charged Thursday, Sept. 12, with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended, revoked or suspended license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control signal.

• Graffiti was reported sprayed Wednesday, Sept. 11, on a horse crossing sign on Hart Road north of Ridgelawn Trail.

• Richard D. Lavin Jr., 49, of the 800 block of Pottawatomie Trail, Batavia, was charged Wednesday, Sept. 11, with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on expired registration and improper lane use.

• Tires on a car in a parking lot on the 1100 block of East Wilson Street were reported slashed between 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, and 6:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. Damage was estimated at $100.

• Brittany C. Hughes, 21, of the 1200 block of East Wilson Street, Batavia, was charged Friday, Sept. 6, with operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended for driving without insurance, driving with a suspended license, driving with an expired registration sticker, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Richard Sampson, 22, of the 0N900 block of Lea Drive near Geneva, was charged Friday, Sept. 6, with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol with a suspended or revoked license, driving with a suspended license or revoked for a second offense of DUI, disobeying a stop sign, failure to signal when required, disobeying a traffic control signal, improper lane use, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
