The Midway Ramblers Cajun Band will perform its cultural program, “The Cajuns: Their History, Language, Culture and Song,” at the St. Charles Public Library at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.
Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative hosted its 50th anniversary celebration Sept. 12, at the Mades-Johnstone Educational Center, 1304 Ronzheimer Ave., St. Charles. Since 1963, the organization has provided services, guidance, and advocacy for over 10,000 students with disabilities and their families. Approximately, 130 current and former students, staff, families, board members and administrators were in attendance.

Fifth Third Bank Senior Vice President Craig Pratt presented a $25,000 check to the Vietnam Moving Wall Committee Chair Herschel Luckinbill during a Sept. 11 press conference on the practice soccer field of West Aurora High School. The funds will help bring Luckinbill’s dream to life – to have Aurora host this national traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial around Veterans Day. The display and other military exhibits and memorabilia will be stationed in the West Aurora soccer field located at Plum Street and Commonwealth Avenue from Nov. 7 through Nov. 11. Also on display will be the Illinois Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial and a model of the World War II Memorial.
