Sugar Grove police reports

• A woman, 27, of the 700 block of Pembridge Place, Sugar Grove, told police on Aug. 30 that someone had burglarized a vehicle belonging to her father, of the same address, while it was parked at the home. Police said she reported that the vehicle was unlocked and her father was out of town at the time of the incident. The woman told police a GPS unit and some loose change was taken from the car. Someone also had used a can of spray paint that was in the car to damage the car’s interior, police said. Police believe the incident occurred during the overnight hours of Aug. 29 and 30.

• A man, 63, of the 700 block of Queensgate Circle, Sugar Grove, told police on Sept. 5 that he believed someone had stolen his government disability check from his home mailbox. Police said the incident could have occurred between Sept. 1 and 5.

• A woman, 51, of the 600 block of Carlisle Court, Sugar Grove, who is a co-owner of a business at the same address, told police on Sept. 9 that she believed a former employee may have used a duplicated business checkbook to write 16 forged checks in July, totaling $13,729.

• Samantha R. Powell, 25, of the 800 block of Royal Lane, West Dundee, was charged Sept. 12 with driving while license suspended. She also was issued two village ordinance violation citations for possession of more than 2.5 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
