GENEVA – St. Peter Church in Geneva will host a pet blessing at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.

The pet-blessing custom takes place in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, according to a news release.

The saint’s feast day is also celebrated on the same day as the pet blessing. The blessing will take place outside, near the main entrance to St. Peter School.

The church and school are located at 1891 Kaneville Road in Geneva. The public and pets are welcome to attend.
