Jeff McIlrath of Geneva and Iris Rala of Pinamalayan, Philippines, were married Sept. 21 with a bagpipe-infused backyard ceremony at their Anderson Boulevard home in Geneva.

McIlrath and Rala met while he was assigned to the Philippines by his employer, Accenture.

The garden ceremony was attended by 50 of the couples’ friends and family members.

As a member of the Medinah Highlanders Bagpipes & Drums band, McIlrath had 15 bagpipers and drummers provide traditional Scottish wedding tunes for the ceremony, which could be heard across the downtown Geneva area that evening.
