Batavia police reports

• Someone living in the 1000 block of Schonback Court reported to police on Thursday, Sept. 19, about receiving a call from a man claiming he was a Drug Enforcement Administration agent out of Washington, D.C. The man claimed the person had purchased Xanax over the Internet through the Dominican Republic, which is illegal. According to reports, the man said a warrant would be issued for the person’s arrest. When asked for the IP address of the order, the man hung up. Batavia police called the number from the caller ID and spoke to the man, who informed police he did not have a warrant for the victim and hung up. Officials from the Washington, D.C., DEA office advised Batavia police they were aware of the suspect and are tracking him.

• Unknown suspects on Wednesday, Sept. 25, painted graffiti on a Comcast utility box and a traffic sign at South Raddant Road and Wind Energy Pass.

• Jeffery Biro, 47, of the 300 block of South Harrison Street, Batavia, was charged Wednesday, Sept. 25, with criminal trespass to a home.

• Someone on Wednesday, Sept. 25, purchased two watches at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, with nine $20 bills, later found to be fake.

• Someone on Tuesday, Sept. 24, sprayed graffiti with brown spray paint on a stop sign at Moorehead Drive/Raddant Road.

• Margi Hakala, 34, of the 100 block of South Van Nortwick Avenue, Batavia, was charged Sunday, Sept. 22, with driving under the influence, making an improper signal, disobeying a traffic control signal and improper lane use.

• Unknown offenders on Friday, Sept. 20, scratched the side of a car parked at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St. Damage was estimated at $500.
