Face Time with Terry Allen

Batavia resident Terry Allen was at Art in Your Eye in Batavia when she answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Dixon

Pets? A Pomeranian-shih tzu mix named Leo, a cat named Jasmine and a guinea pig named Audrey

First job? Helping care for my aunt’s seven children, five days a week for $5 a week. 

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Either a teacher or work for the CIA. I worked with kids in many ways working with education tax boards, and now I just finished my master’s degree in counseling for families.

A book you’d recommend? “How to Train Your Dragon” series by Cressida Cowell

Do you speak another language? French

Favorite charity? Planned Parenthood of America and the YWCA

Favorite local restaurant? Tribella Bar and Grill in Batavia

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I lived in a home in Dixon that Ronald Reagan lived in as a kid 50 years after he left.
