VIRGIL TOWNSHIP – A car whose driver was charged with driving under the influence struck a motorcycle late Friday night on Route 38 at Meredith Road in Virgil Township near Elburn, sending the motorcyclist to Delnor with non-life threatening injuries, a Kane County Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

The driver of the car was treated at the scene, released and charged with DUI, Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Pat Gengler said in an email.

The car rear-ended the motorcycle as they were westbound on Route 38 between the bridge and Meredith Road, Gengler said. No names or other details were available Saturday.
