The Fox Valley Park District will conduct a comprehensive community needs assessment survey during the coming weeks to gather residents’ input that will guide future plans regarding park and recreation priorities.
Working through consultant Leisure Vision/ETC Institute, the park district will distribute surveys to select addresses in all geographic areas throughout the district, which covers Aurora, North Aurora and Montgomery.
A minimum of 1,500 completed surveys will be evaluated.
“These surveys will give us a statistically significant cross-section of the district and serve as an invaluable tool of reference for us moving forward,” Jeff Palmquist, the district’s director of planning, development and grants, said in a news release. “Hearing from our residents in-depth will greatly aid our future planning and allocation of resources.”
The survey will cover a broad range of topics – parks, facilities and programming primary among them – and also provides a forum for respondents to give detailed feedback on preferences and recommendations.
Survey participants will receive notification in advance, and a paper survey will arrive through regular mail a few days later. A Spanish-language version also is available.
It’s the first comprehensive assessment survey the park district has conducted since 2007.
