Hardee's headed to Batavia
BATAVIA – Hardee's plans to take over the former Burger King at 107 N. Batavia Ave. in Batavia as part of its expansion into the Chicago area.
"It is a great location," said Rick Ronald, a principal with San Francisco-based Skyline Pacific Properties LLC. "Hardee's will do well."
Skyline Properties, a real estate firm, is the parent company of Skyline 83 Batavia Investors, LLC, which will lease the building to Hardee's. Hardee's, a St. Louis-based chain, recently announced that it plans to open 35 new restaurants in the Chicago area in the next seven years.
The Burger King closed on July 20 after 25 years in business.
"I'm very pleased that they are coming to Batavia," Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke said on Tuesday. "I'm happy to have anybody that wants to invest in downtown Batavia."
