Face Time with Mike Tritle

DeKalb resident Mike Tritle, 61, was at the Elburn Lions’ All Wheel Car Show when he answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? From sea to shining sea: I was born in California. We moved to Chicago to Omaha to Salt Lake City to Chicago to North Carolina to DeKalb. My dad was an airline mechanic.

Pets? A cat named Holly

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Harrison Ford

First job? At a gas station. I checked your oil, cleaned your windshield and pumped the gas.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? An airplane mechanic. … I became a car professional, auto parts and repairs. I run the Turn Back Time Car Show in Sycamore.

Favorite charity? Through the car show, I support the The Cancer Center at Kishwaukee Community Hospital and the Fizz Ehrler Automotive Technology Scholarship fund.

What game show would you be on? “RU Faster Than a Redneck?”

Do you play an instrument? Guitar

Favorite local restaurant? Portillo’s – anywhere

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I sang with Kenny Rogers at Pheasant Run. The part I sang was “the partridge in a pear tree.”
