Geneva school buses likely to be delayed because of gas leak near Keslinger

Published: Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 1:56 p.m. CST

Geneva School District buses may be delayed by up to 10 minutes this afternoon because of the closing of Keslinger Road near the District’s transportation facility, according to a news release issued by Geneva School District 304.

Early reports indicate there is a leak in a natural gas line along Keslinger Road, and crews are currently attempting to remedy the situation. The closing of Keslinger Road is expected to last at least 2 hours, according to the release.

"Students and staff are safe, but the closing of Keslinger Road between Peck Road and our transportation facility will force the rerouting of many buses via Fabyan Parkway, which could delay them by approximately 10 minutes," the release stated. "Drivers are being called in early to help mitigate the delays."
