Proud Fox Framing to host Art Restoration Expo

Proud Fox Fine Custom Framing in Geneva will host an Art Restoration Expo on Oct. 19.

GENEVA – Proud Fox Fine Custom Framing in Geneva will host an Art Restoration Expo, featuring Chicago-based Joel Oppenheimer Inc., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 19 at Proud Fox, 213 W. State St., Geneva.

David Oppenheimer, director of conservation and framing, and Jennifer Tobits, senior conservator, will be available to evaluate fine art, paintings, photographs, works on paper and family heirlooms at no charge.

Those interested can bring work in need of repair for a free evaluation, condition report and recommendation for work needed.

According to a news release, Joel Oppenheimer Inc., has repaired items, such as work by Toulouse Lautrec and Andy Warhol, family documents, Asian scrolls and photographs.

The MIR Appraisal Service will be available to give appraisals between noon and 3 p.m. 

Proud Fox will coordinate any restoration work to be completed. No appointment to the expo is necessary.
