ST. CHARLES – Trick-or-treat hours in St. Charles are 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Young children should be accompanied by their parents or another responsible adult. Those out after dark should have a flashlight or attach reflective tape to costumes for additional safety.
Always check costumes for proper fit so children don't trip and can see clearly. Trick-or-treaters should watch for traffic, walk on the sidewalk and cross only at intersections. Motorists should take extra precautions and be more observant during these hours for children. Residents are also encouraged to use outside lighting for the safety of the trick-or-treaters.
Lock and secure vehicles, garages and houses to reduce the opportunity for theft and vandalism.
