Brianne Flamand of Batavia creates a drawing of the letter “Y” as part of the Alphabet Letter Exchange project at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Batavia.

BATAVIA – The children in Mrs. Holmes’ preschool classes at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in  Batavia are involved in an Alphabet Letter Exchange project.

Twenty-five schools across the U.S. are participating in the letter exchange project.

Immanuel Lutheran School preschoolers decorated multiple letter “Ys” to send to 26 schools and in return will receive the remaining alphabet letters from other schools.

The children also decorated the letter with items that begin with the letter “Y.”

Once the school receives all the letters from schools across the U.S., it will create a class alphabet book and mark where each letter has come from on a U.S. map.
