As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be just like my father, a carpet installer. I became that. I have had my own business, Val’s Carpets in St. Charles, for 33 years.

A movie you’d recommend? “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”

Favorite charity? March of Dimes

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Favorite local restaurant? Olive Garden in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? We carpeted hockey player Jeremy Roenick’s house in Hinsdale.
