Letters to the Editor

Letter: Many opportunities to serve

To the Editor:

The Lions Club of Geneva, founded in 1937 and serving Geneva and St. Charles, wants to thank the community for its support of Candy Days. This fundraiser helps our club support many community initiatives. A list can be found at www.genevalionsclub.org.

We also want to thank the many local businesses that helped by allowing our members to collect donations outside their establishments: The Geneva Ace, the Blue Goose, the Geneva Post Office, 7-Eleven on State Street in Geneva, Starbucks in Geneva and Walgreens on State Street in Geneva. All were instrumental in our efforts of serving the community. St. Charles Bank & Trust – along with its sister bank, Geneva Bank & Trust – provided significant help in counting all the coins and dollars that were donated. A special thanks to State Street Jewelers for its help. Please help these businesses by shopping local.

Please visit our website to see how you can help. From becoming a member, speaking to our club about your special interest or donating old eyeglasses or hearing aids, the Lions Club of Geneva offers many opportunities for local citizens to follow our motto, “We Serve.” Thanks again for your support.
