Historic Lincoln Highway in Geneva. The Illinois Lincoln Highway, a National Scenic Byway that runs west from the Indiana border toward the Mississippi River, spans approximately 179 miles across Northern Illinois. U.S. Route 30, Illinois Route 31 and Illinois Route 38 comprise Illinois' portion of the Lincoln Highway, which was the first successful, all-weather, coast-to-coast, automobile highway, running from New York to San Francisco.(Sandy Bressner photo)
